| How long have you been fencing? We can see how long everyone's been a member here, but how long has everyone been fencing?
I started a few months ago in October.

| I was just working this out tonight at the pool hall trying to work out how long I had known someone. It will be 6 years this May. I can now say I am in the top 10 nationally (but only just and its going to be REAL hard to keep that top 10 spot).

| nine long years. and i probably should be better than i am for the length of time, but mediocrity comes from only going once every week or 2 weeks. but now that i have started fencing in college, i practice much more.

| 34 years. I'm sure there are others on the board with even longer "time on strip".

| Maybe 10 years? Something like that. And I watched my daughter fence for a couple of years before that.
I really oughta start figuring out how to do it one of these days. I have faith. It's gonna happen.

| I started as a beginner in 1980, and now teach where I first learned. Took one year off in 1983 when I transferred to Michigan State, then took it up again when I found out there was a varsity fencing team there. Made the travel team my senior year. Graduated, moved home, and became the assistant. Coach left, and I got the job. I've since taught somewhere between 1,500-2,000 people how to fence. Of course, not all of them are still fencing, but a good bunch still do fence. |
