| I was not happy giving my name away all the time. I like art and it is simpler, more original and private to use a created name. It is also something of a trend set by users of chat rooms from before I got involved on the net. So firebrand is a Biblical name that describes a character and which was used for me at a very important moment in my life. It means a stick or person burning in the fires of sin. It describes a side of my character. The stick is snatched from the fire, I am not boasting, which is a good idea for here since it is a bit like a blade. A blade burning and glowing at one end, weilded quickly. "Firebrand" is the King James Version of the word stick.
One can imagine an iron fireband glowing red at the letter end, with a handle at the other end. Thus my name in red. I leave my mark. firebrand

| name Hmmmm, I've used it for a very long time.
Used to do a lot of surfing at odd hours of the morning.
Kinda goes with my avatar," the whole he who sees but is not seen thing"
As my close net friends know I'm really not that secretive, right Z!??
I use it everywhere I can........ |

| My wife and I have a (smallish) antique sword collection. At the time I had just acquired a German duelling schlager for her. The first board I used the name on already had a "schlager," "schlager1," "schlager2," etc. I just jumped ahead to seven because it is supposedly lucky and I did not feel like trying the next several numbers one at a time. My real first name is way common (John) and my last name too long and Polish (Trojanowski) for most Anglo-based sites, so I stuck with one handle everywhere. |

In other places I use the name "fechter" which is "fencer" in German. OK, it could be "fechtkunst" = fencing artist, which I'm not.
PK | What's your name in Chinese?
My username is my name.Really can't think of anything else better than that |

| No soldier and the other guys, that is one of PBT's showgirls. She is Hungarian I think, like myself, on my father's side only here tho. She is some prize holder obviously in epee. And she uses PBT stuff, the picture is from their picture catalog with sizes. I added her picture instead of Katalina Varga's because I think she is prettier.
Since you are a soldier think of it as a poster beside my bed on an aircraft carrier. I can give you the Hungarian site address if you like. They sent me 2 catalogs and a hi res picture of their three sabre blades. Zsofia Kovacs is quite helpful and nice. pbtfencing@elender.hu . I Micsza's picture is now in the looks thread. firebrand

| How kind of you! My car wouldn't start yesterday, making me late for my classes, so such an offer is appreciated!

| Cvillefencer because I live in Charlottesville (Cville to the locals) and I just happen to fence. When we first started our club I thought someone looking on the board might see the town name and say "hey, I live near there!" and drop me a line looking for a place to fence, so I thought I would put it in the name.
Not a very interesting screen name. If I had it to do over again I would have used my name like on all my other forum accounts or went with something fun like RighteousBadgerCatapult.

same here, just not creative, plus it took me so long to be able to spell it that I figure I'd use it as much as possible. Now if I could just get people to come close to saying it correctly.
Cheers |

| I chose Hotshot beacasue it means like to show off or somebody who is very good or very quick. And let me tell you somthing you dont want rivers as a name to represent quickness beacause believe me the guy with that nickname rivers (my father) is no more quicker than a empty turtle shell. lol Just kiding he may be old but he still has the moves. well not really.

| When I was in high school, we had a cool foreign exchange student... he was Checozlovakian (which is kinda cool, because they don't make those anymore), and he said 'apostrophe', but he pronounced it odd, not good at writing things phonetically, so I'd have to see you to share it. I thought it was amusing, and I also like trance music... so by prefixing the DJ I thought I could make it unique in this vast interweb.
