Array fencer's profile i need to get literatures/ copy of researches regarding elite/ national fencer's anthropometric profiles; that is, their body size, composition, somatotype, etc. (in general) (answers questions like: "what's the height of American fencers?", Are European fencers more ectomorphic or mesomorphic or both?"...do you know of websites or links on these or if you have your own study, would i be able to get a copy... it's for my friend's research paper -

I've this theory:
people of the same height have diff't footsize depending on whether they are born in the New World or Old. Have your friend throw that in as an aside.
I was born and raised in Hong Kong. Left there when I was 18 in 1968. I'm 5'7.5" and used to have [adidas] shoe size of 8, now it's 8.5.
Composition of my body? The usual carbon unit...

Array You're probably going to have difficulty finding data, as no one collects it, as far as I know...particularly somatotypes. You might be able to find vital stats on some of the world-class fencers who get press occasionally---for example, in this month's American Fencing magazine there's a profile of Soren Thompson, which mentions his height and weight ( 6'3", 185 lbs. ), and from the photos he looks pretty ectomorphic...
Apart from those your friend may have to collect individual numbers on his own, by observation or maybe by enquiries... -

Array Based on my observations at NACs, the body type of American fencers is highly variable and could be best described as assorted bits and parts. -

-Alexander Somatotype is something you are born with, not something you create. A mesomorph who overeats and gets massively fat does not become an endomorph. An endomorph who gets cancer and gets stick thin does not become an ectomorph.
Muscular definition does not alter the basics of the type: tall, slender, long spatulate fingers, etc. Similar Threads -
