| Adding Elastic My mask bobs up and down, would it be legal to add an extra elastic strap around the neck or below the chin?

| You can add things to the inside of your mask, or perhaps to the back of your mask (except for things that stick out too prominently).
You can't add things to the outside, especially things that might catch the opponent's blade. It's a safety issue.

| I suspect your mask is too big. You might also try crimping the bar that fits over the back of your head a little tighter. Does your mask have an elastic band across the back as well? Tighten that, or add one and the bobbing will probably diminish.

| If the mask is too wide, you can narrow it pretty easily by simply pushing on each side. But be careful when crimping the back, as if you do it too much or at too sharp an angle the wire that maintains it's shape could break.

I got it from Barry Paul of Leon Paul that any modification to the back or inside of the mask is not illegal.
Go get yourself some closed-cell foam and make your mask fit your head with a few stitches or hot glue.
Oh, yes, try the others' suggestions first.

| Buy a used mask from eBay?
You're not serious, are you?
Read the thread about the guy who sneezes inside his mask!
I wouldn't buy one unless the seller guarantees that the mask will pass a mask test.

But, back to the subject, no it isn't illegal, and yes, adding elastic or cushions to fill the space is a great idea.
