    Uninsulated Grip

I used a foil with an uninsulated grip in a competition. While I was wiring up,I felt an electric shock. It seems that when my body cord touches the guard while the grip is touching my lamé,I get the shock. Can anyone explain this? Thanks.

What sort of scoring box was being used, and how old was it? Old (and I mean old- as in 1960's vintage) relay-based boxes sourced a rather higher current through the weapons than modern boxes. Getting the occasional zap was not an unusual occurence with them. For that matter, I've even gotten a tingle from a Favero LED tester when I've used it to check weight on my weapons while suited up and still sweaty from a bout.

thust put some electric tape ont the apendages of the grip. I.E.-pistol-visconti the one near your wrist, the one by your thumb, and the one where you place your other fingers.
