| What do you think of your national coaches? My trainer is Polish and i think that polish are the best coaches. I dont think that our national trainer is very good. He doesnt work enough on proper technique. But my coach is very technical with the blade as well as disengages. He should be our national coach! What do u think of your countries national coaches? |

| I don't really know very much about the USA's current national coaches but Poland produced Slawomir Mocek so the coach can't be that bad.

Very often you think that other coaches are bad because you get used to the style that YOUR coach teaches you... I had the exact same problem with my school coach because he didn't like the way I was taught by another coach[ a coach I had proper individual lessons with]. Long story short I stopped fencing for my school...
I think you get the point

| Yeah, I'd have to say I can't really see how you could say Polish coaches are best. The only thing you have to back that up is the fact that Slawomir Mocek is the coolest fencer to ever exist but that probably has more to do with him than his coaches. There are good coaches all over the world and if I had to pick a country I would probably say Russia has had some of the best coaches (foil anyway) because they have produced the greatest foilists.

| Canadian men's epee national team coach, Yurek (don't know his lastname)is Polish who lives in Austria, and he seems to be VERY VERY competent. Smart guy too, speaks like 5-6 languages. However, I also know a couple of polish coaches whose competence is questionable. But I doubt it has anythng to do with nationality it's all about individual qualities. |

| I was a bit extreme for when I praised the polish coaches at the expence of other coaches. I just wanted to say that generally they are everywhere in europe and canada America? They seem to get good results and can adapt their style to the country that they are living in. There are plenty of exellent coaches who that arent polish, yeah sure. But what annoys me is when, well in my country at least, the national coaches arent the best coaches available. That they are in the position of national coach for reasons of polotics |

That they say he is arrogant and a sun of a well i do not want to say. But if The people of Canada are happy then that surely is a good thing. |

| Everyone is going to have a preference as to coaching style, which is denoted by nationality. The bottom line being a good coach is a good coach.
As for our current state, both our men and women's national epee coaches are more than compentent and the team member's from my club that train with them like them.
However, on the subject of politics: We don't have a national coach for men's foil. And please, don't get me started on the stupidity of that.
Also, I took a lesson from a coach based in Luxembourg at an international training camp a couple of years ago. I thought he was pretty good, as were his students. |

| I think there are a lot of good Polish coaches out there, but I think I'm right in saying Prof. Golding is our national coach. I've never had a proper lesson with him but he did seem to know what he was talking about (he is a professor after all!!) |

| Norman Golding is not the British National Coach for any weapon at senior level and is not involved in National Foil Squad coaching/training sessions.
Ziemek Wojciechowski is as close to a British National foil coach as we have (both men's and women's foil) and travels with the british team to the world championships. He is Polish (although has lived in the UK for an awful lot of years). He is a really excellent coach.
