Tournament Help

Hey everyone-

I've been searching all over the internet for information on Under 19 national/jo qualifiers. I'm pretty sure that the jo qualifiers are over, so if anyone could either tell me or point me in the right direction of the national qualifier that would be great. My coaches (and the USFA) can't currently decide right now, so I'm in either the Ark-La-Miss or Alabama Division. Thanks.

Your USFA card has what division the national office thinks you are in. There is no national qualifier for Junior Olympics - you would need to have qualified at your division's qualification tournament.

You'll also need to qualify either through your section's tournament or by having enough national points to make it to nationals. You can find all of the qualification path information at http://www.usfencing.org/

Happy New Year!
Craig

That's not quite right, Craig. One can qualify to the JOs by placing high enough at the upcoming Junior NAC in San Jose. Top-32 to make points should ensure the fencer a qualification to the JOs. Since the Junior NACs are primarily an event to determine top junior fencers, one can conceivably consider it to be a qualifier to the JOs.

There isn't a cadet NAC at the same time, so there's no way to qualify to the cadet JOs from there (except by qualifying to the junior category and be age-eligible for cadet).

Oh, entry deadlines for the January NACs have long been passed.
