Clubs and Fencers

Does your club do anything in the way of support, for it's top fencers?

Does your club treat fencer's differently according to their competitive goals?

Been talking to people from other clubs and would like to see if there is a difference in things such as price structure for lessons and fees according to the level of competition participation.

This year has been very expensive for competitions and all the costs that go along with fencing. It would be interesting to see how other clubs handle the situation.

there is no difference in treatment between high level fencers, and lower level fencers at my club. Which is good, and a decent amount of financial aid is available for travel to NAC's and such. Makes for a very un-elitest atmosphere at my club, unfortunately since precedence isn't given to those who train hard, and perform well, often some people do not train as hard as they should to reach full potential.

Their Can be...
I have experienced In one incident two coaches who have been fighting vigurusly to get me into their fencing club... we live to far away so it can't happen any time soon, but they say they'll lower prices and make room in classes and bend their rules a bit for us
We have had other club give us a discount for their fee.
Stuff like that but what I hate iis when the High Rated fencers get away with stuff on the strip.
For example I saw someone get yelled at by the director for lifting his mask up on his head, when the action stopped, so he could whipe his face. Later I saw the same director direct to highly rated fencers fence and do the same thing over and over again now it's not quite getting away with murder but I have been jumped for this and If i had turned my back, lifted my mask, left the strip, and talked as much as them I whould not even had time to defend myself I whould have lost due to red cards.
Thats what really gets me!
Not the prices at clubs... becouse who the hell cares but the stuff that takes place on the strip.

When we perform well our coach does not seem to make big diference between us, but when one of us screws up at the tournament they are subjected to "silent treatment" for about a week where no matter what you do or say (including into coache's face directly) he will act like we're not there lol
Pretty funny seeing how he's one of those excentric Russian dudes
As to financial support and such - on several occasions some people in the club received free (non-maraging, but new) blades. Oterwise we'e a poor Canadian part time club (as in we don't even have our own gym)
