| This is an excellent book, you'll enjoy it a lot. It also has a little extra coolness for us fencers, who understand the lingo. Great mystery, it really pulls you in. I've been wanting to try a couple more of his other book like the Club Dumas and there's one other. Tell me what you think, but I definitely reccomend it.

| Let me add my endorsement. The book was absolutely delightful. The author must have some knowledge of fencing.
(Although some friends and I did try to re-enact the "secret" move he teaches and were a bit let down.)
As to the film, you can tell how much faith a film has in its fencing choreography by how far back it is willing to let the camera go. (A lot of choregraphic sins are masked by close-ups that do not reveal movement). The shots are well composed for a good look at his lessons. Crisp, clean moves all the way around.
Of course both film and novel have the same moral:
Point Control is EVERYTHING! |

| I have read several of his books. The Fencing Master, and Club Dumas were quite entertaining. Club Dumas was also made into a movie called the Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp. |

| The American hardcover translation is 245 pages of easy reading. The Spanish paperback (smaller size) is 356 pages long. |
