Array Chuck vs. Bruce Chuck Norris against Bruce Lee who wins? Bruce was good but I think Chuck has been underestimated. Perhaps Seagal is the best. -

Array Nothing is more frightening than ignorance in action. -
In the early 90's Seagal made a boast that he could beat anyone anywhere. Thirteen guys got together, "The Dirty Dozen" they made challenges in magazines on the street. Confronting him on several occasions. That I know of he never took a challenge.
I would put my money on Norris. I've seen footage of a sparing match between the two on a movie set in the 70's. Pretty evenly matched, but I think Chuck had the advantage as far as leg speed and power. Good question though. In modern cinema most of the martial artists are paper champions. You picked 2 of those that proved themselves on the street or in the ring. Jackie being another with a healthy resume. Also the fact that he does most all of his own stunts goes a long way with me. Not a big fan of his movie style(silly humor). I liked both of the movies with Chris Tucker though. Should you walk on the road less traveled, watch your step. -

Array You do know that they were pitted against each other in Lee's last completed film, "Return of the Dragon", right? You could probably get an idea from watching the fight in the Coliseum, choreography aside... -

Fighting has evolved a lot since Lee's time. And i think a lot of the evolution had to do with Lee himself. I say that if he was in his prime today he would be a totally different kind of fighter.
Chuck and Carradine are both underestimated and Seagal has developed a huge ***. -

Yeah you r right it definately has evolved and bruce would be a different fighter. But mixed martial arts is more exiting now -
wow...
bruce lee would slaughter ALL of them
vs jackie chan or jet li would be a fight though
jackei vs jet would be a great fight as well, but would probably never fight one another. -

Array Bruce Lee would end chuck norris. Badly.
It's true they did fight at the end of Bruce's last movie, "return of the dragon" and chuck got put down. Still, it was choreographed, but if you watch it you can tell that bruce is MUCH faster than chuck. The only advantage chuck would have is reach, and with bruce's concept of distance that wouldn't have been a problem.
Also, as has been said before, if Bruce Lee were around today he would be a different fighter - but not that much different. His system, Jeet Kune Do, is STILL ahead of it's time - read his books. In a fight to the death, bruce would take out any of the UFC folks out there. Array Bruce Lee vs. Chick Norris? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA HAHAH! (seriously i laughed that much) CHUCK WOULD DIE I fear not death, for the sooner I die the longer I shall be immortal. -

Array Well I don't know. Bruce is fast but Chuck looks like he can take a hit pretty good. I saw the movie Return of the Dragon and I noticed that in one scene Bruce even had to rip some of the hair off of Chuck's chest just to get Chuck off him.
I dont think Jet or Jacky would stand much of a chance with Bruce. Both of those suckers are into big wasteful motions while Bruce is more of a point in line and stop hit man. -

Array That is fake! but you just look at bruce and he is ripped to ****in shreds. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Maybe if bruce worked alot more on grapplingh and the clinch given his talent he possibly could kick everyones a###ses in ufc but only in his weight division and maybe a bit bigger. against thebig guys he wouldnt stand a chance. what bruce knew and discovered is common knowledge now and has been improved on so he wouldnt have that advantage now.Chuck is a chump- bruce would always kick his behind -
I fell for it too, ringing in with some "I'm certain this is what would happen" theory. Then I remembered I've been in some real fights. Anyone who has, has to conceed to the point that on any given day anybody can get lucky. I'm going to resign myself to the fact that I think it would be a fight worth watching. Should you walk on the road less traveled, watch your step. -

Array Jeet Kune Do incorporates elements from most major fighting styles, including wrestling, judo and various grappling styles. So In would say he can likely do it - we just haven't seen it as it wouldn't make interesting fight scenes for his films.
When one of these grapplers is trying to get close to bruce he would kick him in the..male region, poke him in the eyes, punch him in the throat, and target other vital areas. How often has that been done on UFC? Read bruce's books, his philosophy is rather brutal when it gets to self defense.
Also...Bruce Lee TAUGHT chuck norris. Chuck wouldn't have a chance. All those big roundhouse kicks opens him up too much. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

Array As far as grappling goes...Bruce Lee could unbend himself out of an ox-bow. Holy crap....
Still, the points about size and ability to absorb punishment are valid. Most martial artists don't take as many full-strength blows in a year as a boxer does in one fight. And I once had a TKD master tell me that he'd do his best to run away from a boxer or a pro football lineman for those reasons: they could shrug off a lot of his blows and kicks, and all they'd have to do was get lucky enough to connect once... -

Array come on guys! chuck isnt that bad. i read somewhere that he was the one who taught bruce how to kick above the waist. also chuck's skills have kept him alive while bruce is dead. -

Mixed martial arts(eg. pride, ufc, pancrass, shooto etc) has evolved from the same philosofies and maybe directly influenced by JKD. The idea of breaking down rigid forms from various styles and choosing what is effective from each and training like an athlete is common to both JKD and MMA. Bruce discovered it 20 years earlier. But the fact is that bruce did it in isolation whereas now there are alot of martial artists cross-training with each other -so it is at a much higher level than during bruce's time.Bruce would have to learn the new developments ( which i'm sure wouldnt be too much trouble for him).During the early years of the UFC the Royce Gracie( Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) demonstrated the importance of ground fighting and grappling by kicking everyones arse (no matter what their size) with not so much as a scratch on himself. True, bruce did include grappling in JKD but not to the same level as the Gracies. How could he, there was no one that skilled at the time.Since then Wrestling and now again stand-up fighting have proven to be effective as new techniques were employed to counter grapplers takedowns. Today you have to be well versed in all forms. Perhaps MMA was Bruce's dream?

In a 'real fight I dont think MMA fighters would adhere to UFC rules. They would be just as capable or groin strikes, eye gouging, biting and all the other nasty little tricks. Their MMA training would enable them to gain better positioning in order to do so. 'Cats are c unts'
