Array Lamé Printing Hey Everyone,
Is there a place where I can send my Lamé off to get my name/country on the back? I know about the people who are at the NAC's and stuff, but is there anywhere that you can send it off to? I need it by January 24th for the Montreal Junior WC.
Thanks Homestarrunner forever!~!

Try:
Marx Enterprises
7825 SW 11th Avenue,
Portland, OR 97219
Phone: (503) 245-9271
I'd call to check about the address and timing first if I were you. -

Array Some of the sabreurs I know - usu. kids - did it on the cheap: Do the lettering using you printer, then use a blue marker... seems to work even on the lame's.

Array I did it by mail with Marx once, and it went fine. "Arm yourself, Watson, there is an evil hand afoot ahead." -- Dennis Pierce, 2010 Bulwer-Lytton contest, detective fiction category runner-up. -

Array PKT -- will blue marker really work!? It won't hurt the conductivity or anything? If it will work... project! Sounds like fun to do.
Though, once I misspelled my name on a fencing jacket. Luckily someone stole it. -

Yeah, I've done that before using Stencils. I used Sharpies on lame. Works fine. On fabric it tends to bleed too much but you can get fabric paint...which works fine. How it looks depends on how good you are at layout and how steady your hand is.
But now that I have a job I have Marx do it...

Array There is a place around here called Signed, sealed, and delivered. They do a nice job, and only charge 12 dollars. You could try looking them up on the web. They do jackets, lames, and knickers, but they will not do all cotton uniforms. It seems that the cotton can shrink or singe or something.
The web site is SSD4U.com and if you drop him a line I am sure he could get it done and back to you inside a week. I you decide to use him tell him that the guy from the cville fencing club sent you. Maybe he will give me a deal the next time I bring a bunch of gear in for printing! :-)
Good luck!

Array TheOne,
I think GGK answered your question for me.
Bleeding IS a problem.
Please remember that I didn't do it myself, nor did I recommend it. I was just stating a fact that some of the sabreur kids did it on their own... It's just an observation.
