Array First exposure - 1981, age 18 (1st yr college)
Did it for three years, then dropped it until 1996, which meant I picked it up for real at 33.
Really sucks when I get beat by kids I could've fathered!

Like Purple Fencer, I first tried at 18 as a college freshman and stayed for a couple years.
Then I stopped until 1997 when I was 27. I think teh next time I stop will be when my heart stops beating. -
I was 17 the first time I started and fenced for 5 years. 1973-1978
I was 45 the second time and it's been 7 months! Like Crash, I'll keep going as long as I am able.

Array 21 (7 years ago), & ready for a more long term hiatus.

Array 28 *is* old. 29 is old. However, 30 is very young, as I recall.
Heck, 19 is old, and so is 18. My daughter's 18. She's reeeeeally old. She has to explain things to me all the time because I'm too young to stay focused like her.
39 was old. 40 was hilariously juvenile.
49 is old. Can't wait till I hit 50 and get over it again. "Arm yourself, Watson, there is an evil hand afoot ahead." -- Dennis Pierce, 2010 Bulwer-Lytton contest, detective fiction category runner-up. -
I was 7, i am 15 now.

I started when I was 17 and stopped at 22.
Started again at 45 and I'll stop when I'm dead and not before.
I'm not an Aussie, but I am sending my Daughter to Austrailia for three weeks in late June/early July.

I started when I was 10. I'm "sixte-teen" now (I can't get out of the habit of cracking that lame joke). -
