Array Health recovery, physiotherapy... My arms especially my right forearm is injured with chronic overuse syndrome. I need physiotherapy. Can anyone give some advice ? It is a computer mouse injury. Anti-inflammatories have not helped.
In the mean time, since physio takes 6 months how about practice mainly with the left arm ?
Also I need to recover my stamina after quite some wasted time. I want to increase muscle mass too, any advice there? Bicycle riding and resistance exercises are good yes ? firebrand -

Array Or use your mouse with the left arm, and keep fencing with the right one. You probably use your mouse more time than you fence, don't you? If you don't, then you're lucky and I envy you ;-) - Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)

Array I am right handed and had a similar problem: basically over-use was causing the tendons in my right hand to become very uncomfortable. I didn't see a doctor/physio, I just swapped my mouse to my left hand.
It took a two or three days of fumbling around to operate a mouse with my left hand reasonably well. After a couple of weeks it was completely second nature....
Continuing to fence with my right hand, but use the mouse with my left had has removed the problems with my tendons in my right hand. If I do ever have any problems, I know if it is fencing or computer use: fencing doesn't interfer with work and (more importantly ) work doesn't interfer with fencing...
Good luck with it all - I hope that your arm gets much better very soon

Array Thanks boo boo, and seasons greetings. Do get a few doctors opinions on your tendons... for long term maintenance. My mum needed injections in hers. Try Uni campuses for free med student advice... firebrand
