I expect to receive Women's Epee and Men's Foil early next week.
I'll post once I've had a chance to review the final cut.

| B]Nice action, difficult to decipher but tape quality is excellent. I gave the point to the fencer on my left, the parry riposte on my right hits but off target, and left comes in with the remise? am I completely off.
Foil, in two weeks, and counting. I don't know if I understand the new foil rules, it's going to include the bib I take it, okay, we'll go with that, and that! I don't know if it's the best idea, but we'll probably fence alot better with the bib, and it will loosen up the game. I have a feeling the mask thing is not a big deal, the vendors are doing well with the current mesh masks. I have a nice Nigrini, FIE mesh.....on the other hand...... |

| IMHO, it looks like - final action:
Vanni was looking for the blade and failed, [no blade contact sound]
Joppich derobes and lands.
The green light came on...I wish they had included the lights in the top bar where the names are...
Judging from the cheering, Joppich's hit was good.
The score before this hit was 7/1 Joppich/Vanni.
The final result was Joppich/Vanni 15/14.
The music at the beginning was pretty goofy.

| This was a concept cut of the action. The graphics up there are place holders for the actual score and lamps for the final.
This action was a 1 light for Joppich.

| 2 More Sample Clips! Two more samples: Women's Epee - 1MB Men's Sabre - 3MB
I'll also have a new tape from Sergei Golubitsky out at the beginning of January. I'll post a clip of that next week.

| Even if Vanni hit, it would still be Joppich's because Vanni got spooked and made a hesitation while coming at Joppich. Joppich was very effective throwing those counter-attack/stop-hit motions the whole time. Vanni (and Guyart) didn't know whether to complete the attack or hold back in a prep, waiting out the false counter-attacks.
Sometimes, the counter-attacks were real and caught the attacker (Vanni or Guyart) looking.

| The link to men's sabre doesn't seem to work.
And who are the fencers in women's epee, and who scored that touch? And what kind of shoes was the fencer on the right wearing? Looks very stylish.

about 1MB.
So, who do you think controls the blade? |

| Re: the last MF slow-mo Craig posted
Vanni attacks. Joppich attempts a parry-riposte. If Joppich found Vanni's blade, it's his touch since his riposte was immediately after his parry. If he searched and missed, it's Vanni's touch and Joppich is out of time. From the clip, I can't tell if the parry was made.
Edit: Wow, I just watched this again on a computer with a different (better? certainly the display size is larger) .mov player, and the action looks clearer to me. Now it looks as if Vanni advances, searches for the blade, and continues. Joppich attempts to derobe. On the lower-res player, that big bent-arm motion at the end of Joppich's derobement looked like a big parry 4 to me. Anyway, the ROW is clear assuming you can tell if there's blade contact (which I still can't from the clip): if Vanni successfully beat, his attack was in time. If Joppich derobed, Vanni is out of time. If neither the beat nor the derobement was especially convincing, then the ref was right to toss the touch - not with an "I don't know," but with a "neither of you were proper" call.

| Yeah, it is a little hard to tell who's blade was on top because it's all blur. Judging from the hand posistions, Joppich had the beat, but the way he tried to jump into Vanni seems like he knew he didn't have the beat and tried for a remise instead.
