Array Real Recipes For Myra True I think Myra needs some real recipes:
One thing to keep in mind during holiday cooking orgies is to have lots of garlic and garlic butter. To make the BEST garlic butter, take a 2 cup pyrex dish and put two sticks of butter and about a cup of fresh peeled garlic cloves. Bake it in an oven on a piece of foil (it usually boils over until the butter clarifies) and bake it about 40 minutes at 350.
Garlic Cheese Mashed Tators
Boil peeled sliced, potatoes until they are cooked but not too mushy, (about 20 minutes after they come to a boil.)
Pour off the water and put the taters in a mixing bowl. Add a big scoop of that garlic butter with the garlic, some milk and about 1/2 cup of sour cream. They may need a little salt too.
Whip them taters!!!
Put the mashed mixture into a buttered glass baking dish and throw some cheese on top. The Mexican Four Cheese Mixture by Kraft has a nice flavor> Bake them in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
They get all nice and poofy that way!
Serve to hungry fencers. Place them carefully on the table and slowly back away..... you could lose an arm. A friend will bail you out of jail,
a true friend will help you hide the body...: ) -

I don't know if you like Chinese cuisine but I have quite a few recipes in that genre.
I'm thinking .....
Hot and Sour Soup
Chicken or Beef Fried Rice
Beef with Broccoli
Crabmeat Bisque (not Chinese -- I know!)
Seashore Chowder (great for a cold, cold night!)
Twice cooked Pork/Chicken
Mint Silk Ice Cream Pie
Mandarin Orange Dessert with Cottage Cheese
Chocolate Mousse (aka Death by Chocolate)
A few other things that have recently slipped my mind!
Oh, and do you want recipes for appetizers as well? I have this KILLER recipe for smoked salmon pate that is TO DIE FOR!

Array Ginger Chicken Ingredients:
Chicken breasts: slice into strips or cube - set aside
Carrots: slice into diagonal shapes - set aside
Fresh ginger - about 1 tablespoon diced- for 4 chicken breasts
Fresh garlic - about 2 teaspoons - for 4 chicken breasts
Soy sauce - just keep bottle near the wok
Oyster sauce - keep near wok
1 tablespoon of flour - hydrate in warm water and keep near wok.
seasame oil - keep near wok
regular corn oil - keep near wok.
Wok - heat about 1 tablespoon of oil on bottom of wok, turn down heat after it gets to high temperature. Add garlic and ginger and turn down heat. Add chicken and brown quickly, add the hydrated flour mixture and let it cook slowly, add soy souce and oyster sauce, let it cook until tender. You may have to add or subtract according to taste. The more chicken you cook, the more of the other ingredients you have to use, you may have to add more water/flour which acts as a thickening agent. Then when it's done, remove from wok and place in covered serving dish.
Cook carrots in wok separately, remove and place in serving dish.
Rice should be cooking in rice cooker.
-----------------------------------------------------
You can do the same with Beef and broccoli,
Shrimp and snow peas.
------------------------------------------------------
All you have to remember is to cook the meat and veggies separately, and alter the spices according to the type of foods.
------------------------------------------------------
Garnish with chilli sauce.
[or you could just cook up that dog Mo, and see what happens]

Array If in need of a weird party dip to serve, my friend ran over this recipe the other day and recommended it all to us:
A to Z Dip
1 zucchini, peeled and finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
2 tablespoons chopped black olives
1 teaspoon hot sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon pico de gallo seasoning
1 Place the zucchini in a colander, and sprinkle with salt. Place the colander over a bowl, and refrigerate for one hour to release the liquid from the zucchini.
2 In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese and sour cream. Stir in the artichoke hearts, drained zucchini, and black olives. Season with hot sauce, salt, pepper, and pico de gallo seasoning. Serve with crackers, raw vegetables, or corn chips.
Sounds like it'd be an ice breaker at parties... I've got a theory. It could be bunnies.

Array hmm.... I'll most likely find myself trying to feed fencers. Excellent.
Thank you! -
four-can soup This one's real easy, hearty and tasty. Easily multiplied into huge batches. Get some good bread to go with it.
Sautee in a soup kettle about a half diced onion (until they start to get clear) and a few cloves of chopped garlic.
Add 1 can each of the following (All the cans should be the same size)
--corn (drain first)
--diced tomatos
--pinto beans (If you get pintos with "southwest flavoring" that'll pretty much exempt you from adding spices)
--beef or vegetarian stock (actually, you might need more, depending on how thick you want it.)
Let the soup cook on low for about 45 minutes.
Optional: when the onions are done, throw in about two tablespoons of curry powder. You can also sautee in chopped jalapeno peppers and/or green peppers. Lots of chunks of meat of any kind sauteed with the onions are mandatory for carnivorous types, ie, guys.
21 and over: put some wine in for the last 10 minutes of cooking. Similar Threads -
