Array anyone else name their swords? my sabre is known as pixiefang. its tip can almost touch my guard when i bend it hard. -

Array My first foil is called the "ghetto foil". It's had it's blade replaced three times, and as an Italian gripped weapon that was welded and not riveted, I've had to reattatch the little loops twice on both sides, and it has a hole melted through it from last time I did it. At the moment, one of the loops is held on by athletic tape... If this post did not contain any sarcasm, it very well should have. -

Array My two red and green foils are Arthur II and Martha. My yellow and blue taped foil is Algernon the 2nd. Theses are evil....VERY evil, someone rescue me pls! -

Array Named weapons? Please...many parts have been re-combined, blades replaced, things switched around. I stick to "Works"
and "Needs Fixin" and sometimes one will earn the title "Gonna break soon" -

Array My foils are named 'foil' or, in they case they break, 'that god damned piece of ****.'
My epees shall be named 'epee' and if one of them shall break I will call it 'stupid piece of ****.'
Of course, any sabre I own will be called 'Slashy.' -

Array I have a dry foil that I call Frakenstien.
Anyway, to change the subject a little, does anyone know of any named swords from literature other than the Excaliber?

Array I've got one practice french foil that I call "the claymore" because, well, its about as unwieldy as the Scottish greatsword of the same name.
As far as named swords in history - I believe (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) the Japanese duelist Musashi fought with a Katana in each hand. The names of his weapons were Masamune and Murasama. -

Array I have right now:
"Good Foil" (Vniti with a nice bend in the tang)
"Nice Foil" (Vniti without such a good bend in the Tang)
and "flick with my bell over my opponents head foil" (BG blade that is as flexible as wet spaghetti) Homestarrunner forever!~!

Array My foils are generally referred to as "red" and "blue", as I have different coloured pads in them.
My club has a weapon known as "fuzzy," due to fuzzy material that used to be on the grip, but has since all but worn away.
I used to call whichever of my current foils that was whippier "Mr. Flicky," until I recently got an extremely stiff blade. After referring to it once as "Mr. Stiffy," I no longer use blade flexibility to identify my weapons. -
Haven't named my foil, don't intend to.
But we call our coach King Arthur and his foil Excalibur.
Just because. -
Hrunting "whose patterned blade was tempered in blood" but unfortunately did not "bite" when Beowulf went up against the water-hag. And Naegling, which also failed our hero against the Worm. If you're a romantic/warrior type who would name your blade, Beowulf is a must read!
But it never occurred to me to name my foil. Cool idea. Pokemon? -

Array I bought a BG brushed aluminum guard (white color) and custom painted the inside black. I call it "ebony and ivory", any of you who have played Devil May Cry know what I'm talking about -
