Array I've seen it spelled 3 or 4 different ways... I think they're both right. "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it." -
Naming Swords I have only one weapon that I have a name due to its grip. I call her "Frenchie" I have had to repair and change blades on so many of my others that it isn't worth it.
While it has been a good weapon for me, I certainly hope tha I don't get too carried away and start talking it it during a tournament. -

Array I usually name all my weapons after greek myths. I have a chinese sword named Hades, nunchaku named Ares, chinese broadsword named Zeus, and when I get one I will name my saber Ceberus. I fear not death, for the sooner I die the longer I shall be immortal. -

Array Once I bought some foils that I knew would last a while before rusting (ie, miraging foils) and started doing really well with them, I decided to name them.
One is called Veritas, which means sword or truth in Latin, dunno which, due to the fact that I consistantly do well with it against good fencers.
The other one is called Enkidu, which is Gilgamesh's crazy sidekick, due to the fact that I use this one against wild/beginner fencers and usually win. -
I had one named Mr. Burns. -

Unconfirmed
Array I did as a kid - but I go through sabres so quickly it is hardly worth it - sabres break every 5 months or so.
however, as i do v little foil, i do have names for them "flicker" and "Riposter"
as one is flicky, and the other is dead straight and is superb for ripostes - great for changing tactics halfway through a bout -

Array I have 3 epees.
Their names are:
"Duct Tape"
"About to break"
and "Broken".
By the way, they are functional - that's just their names. -

Array My bokken is hiss. Because the wood rasp made a hissing sound as I dragged it across the 100 year old ash wood when I carved it . I have smashed at least 4 other bokkens with that sword, and its still going strong and hasnt cracked yet. It breaks every other sword that it touches. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -
