| If you think fencing is bad, try a small church vestry. Now THAT's poison.

| Moon,
I fly in on Monday and out on Thursday. Don't know if I could make a Tuesday this trip. We are expecting serious problems at the site when we arrive. I'll be back through again, I'm sure. When I am I'll try to book through friday so I can come and play. Thanks! |

| latenight,
Too bad! Next time, though. You'll be able to meet Doug too. He coaches the beginning & advanced fencers.
Be sure to bring your electric, if you can. Two strips, new equipment!

| Polina has been training hard and geting free lessons at EMU's club the last month, and when Polina filled out the registration listing herself at the 1st tournament she won she listed herself as an EMU fencing club member. When the results were submitted she was changed over to being a Schoolcraft member without her giving consent to that. I think its a poor way to behave to fencers from other clubs who visit, though perhaps it was just a misunderstanding or she was unclear with English being her second language. We are considering wether to file a complaint with the USFA regarding that.
I, and Riddle are also coming to visit Schoolcraft's fencing club this Friday. I hope your ankle is better so you can fence, I have five new electric foils I'm hoping to give a good workout before our club's road trip to Cleveland for the Sectionals.

| My ankle was never injured...& what part of "no" don't you understand? I'm tired of this stupid "I challenge you" CRAP, then you never show up or change your tune. It ends now. Grow up. Show up, do your fencing, & leave.
As for Polina, I'll be sure to ask the division secretary who she signed up under in the first place. There are an awful lot of eyewitnesses who disagree with your version. Especially since you weren't there, Mike.
Oh yes, & congrats to Erin Fife for her 3rd place victory. She is, without a doubt, from Schoolcraft.
End of conversation.

| To moonitic,
I would challenge you to a duel, but since your going to be all catty about getting challenged, forget about it.
End of conversation.

Moonitic's the one who's been more reasonable here (in general and on this thread), she's not the one I'd take a swipe at.
C'mon guys, you want to be petty and snipe go over to fencingsucks.com. You want to have reasonable discussions, stay here.

| Frank,
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Apparantly I am TOTALLY out of the loop because I didn't hear a thing about your B, I've always admired how hard you work at the club and in lessons and think it's great that all that work has paid off for you!! I'm sorry I won't be able to congratulate you in person, but I'm going out of town for a couple of weeks so won't be at the club. (can we say fencing withdrawl???)

| Goodness. Mike...why do you act this way about Moonitic? I just don't understand why someone has to be so nasty and vicious and mean-spirited. Are you jealous of her? She is living her dreams with her family, friends, book, fencing, etc.. Do you have a hard time with that? Is your life that nasty and petty? If so, I really feel sorry for you. I don't blame Moonitic for not agreeing to fence you. You have backed out on your challange. I have seen it. Why not just admit it? As for this lovely Russian fencer, guess what? Ask HER what's going on and where she is affiliated from instead of assuming it's this or that. I have heard from those in the know that it's Schoolcraft. And, thanks, Mike, you have her feeling guilty because of this thing you have started. I hope you are happy with yourself. I pray that you learn some humility and honesty. You'll be a much better person for it.

| Ok, this is all completely ridiculous. I'm sorry that anyone not affiliated with the Michigan Division (or those in the MI Div that this does not matter to) had to see this. I don't know what the problem is, but enough is enough. Making personal attacks on a public board, while running from or ignoring the person offline is extremely cowardly, not to mention childish & uncalled for. I've had enough.
And Polinea, a sweet young girl, feels that she's in the middle of all this. It's WRONG. I've spoken to her directly, & she feels guilty about it when she, in fact, did nothing wrong! It doesn't matter where she fences. The simple fact is, she fences. She's a sweet person & doesn't deserve any of this nonsense. To use her to work out some petty jealousy, rivalry or whatever is insane. Whatever happened in the past, GET OVER IT! Ok? Grow up, get a life & go on with it. One person doesn't make a club great anyway. The club as a whole does. Hence the word "club". You can't have a club with one person, unless you have serious issues with yourself.
One last fact: NO club, coach or person in the United States made Polinea what she is today. She was taken from her family at a young age (in Russia) & put in a fencing school. She will tell anyone this without hesitation. The credit for her doing so well belongs to HER & HER alone. No one else. It was HER hard work & dedication that got her where she is today.
I'm happy to have her as a member of Schoolcraft. Even if she wasn't a member, I'd be happy to have her around. Why? Good people are ALWAYS welcome at Schoolcraft. I can't say the same about lying, egotistical, JEALOUS others. Now, cut the crap!

| Willow amuses me, she's like a cute little puppy who yaps whenever she feels her mistress is threatened, and I've always liked puppies. Moonitic should look into getting a Lithium prescription if she's that traumatized by anything I say.
I believe what Polina told me, though I don't think she'll always be an Eastern club fencer, I think she'll end up with the Ukraine coach instead of Riddle. He needs a translater, she likes his coaching.
What happens with Moonitics career or whatnot, I don't really care though its funny seeing her online temper tantrums if people don't agree with her. If she learns to put that passion into her writing, she will no doubt have success in her writing career.
I'm not really worried about a popularity contest, I don't need votes for a book and I'm not running for any offices.
Training hard, faith in myself and good coaching is what will develop my fencing in the long run and thats all that matters to me.
Also, if anyone local is interested in sponsoring me I'll be in the March of Dimes this year, and they're looking for donations. Saving babies together and all that. :-)

| 1st: frank, we gave it to you after you paid us $$$$. it even looked good when you beat that kid that wasn't even from our area. seriously, congrats, maybe another 15 for an "a"? or will this make you fence more than once-a-week?
2nd: girls fencing with men, what's the problem? you should be honored they would even want to look at you, let alone interact. if anyone can beat you, you should have a desire to fence with them until you can beat them. if you don't want to fence them because they'll beat you, then i think knitting would be good for you.

2nd: girls fencing with men, what's the problem? | Hey! I thought that cash was going to buy me some silence, too! And Yes. I may actually try to fence more than once per week in the future...
About "girls fencing with men", I don't see a problem and don't even understand the issue, so I won't comment.

| The last time I talk to Polina I apologized, I guess if schoolcraft wish to win this debate then fine. I personally don't care. Perhaps I ask for too much when I ask for some credit and ask for my club to get some credit on anything. Oh, I do have an ace up my sleeve. One of my fencer is going to the qualifiers, not before he goes to his pentathlon tournament down in San Antonio, TX I wish him Good luck. I guess my reputation as coach doesn't really matter, concidering I feel like have to prove something. What the new Russian coach will be teach is good. I am glad someone is getting the chance to improve schoolcrafts fencing. And for your information I think Polina is an Excellent fencer even before she started to attend our club as well as schoolcrafts, I feel that it was privlege to work with her and help to get back into the sport. I give her total credit for her training. And hope she will keep coming to Eastern to fence. As for you Mary you make a mountain out of a mole hill, and I wish you would grow up. And would like to ask Craig to end this thread. Enough bashing has gone on here. |

| All I am going to say is this...I thought you fencers were supposed to support each other. Not try to beat each other down. Fencing is a sport and an art. It doesn't matter what club you fence for, expect maybe for yourself. What matters is loving your sport and craft. It also doesn't matter how many events you win, so long as you do your best and have fun. It truly saddens me to see petty jealousy and rudeness and spite. I hate to say this, but it makes me glad that I'm a spectator and not a participant. When I move to CA in August, I'll have to see what the fencing is like there.
