    What makes you happy?

Is anyone familiar with the book 14,000 things to be happy about by Barbara Ann Kipfer? I'd like to take a survey on what you would say makes you happy (besides fencing, though we all have our ups and downs with this). Don't feel that you must list everything; a few items will be sufficient.

hhmm... not sure I'm familiar with the book (though I might just be spacing).

    Things that make me happy?

    Family, good friends, good books...

My girlfriend, and sleep. Everything else just kind of gets me through the intervening periods when those two aren't available.

Being able to curl up in the corner of a chair, or in bed, with a blanket and read for hours, knowing that you have nothing to worry about.

    Making others happy.

What about the 6-month old German Shepherd! We want details on the puppy!

I don't call anything that stands taller than my waist (at the shoulders) a puppy! He's a big sucker, though not as thickly-furred (yet?) as most German Sheperds. All black, except the bit of white on one of his toes. Very friendly/affectionate, extremely hyper, pretty smart. A lot of fun. I miss him; we had him for about a month before I left, then he went and got huge and fun, and I've only seen him for a few days since!

Here's the before picture, with cat for scale.
