| The Meaning of Life If one of us were to discover the true Meaning of Life, would anybody believe us? Douglass Adams of "Hitchiker" fame says that the Meaning of Life is 42, and we all laugh. But how do we know he's not right? I think I'm going to start centering my life more around the number 42 whenever possible, just because. |

| Wait, I thought the marine corp advertises that you'll find the meaning of life if you join them.

| They might be right too, but considering my current position, it would be a little tougher to try that out. For me, anyway. Maybe you should give it a try? |

| Haha, jokes on you. There is no meaning of life. None.
I think that's great. Leaves you free to make up whatever answer you like. There is no right or wrong, because it's all just a matter of opinion. |

| Try and be nice to people,
Avoid eating fat,
Read a good book every now and then,
Get some walking in,
And try to live together in peace and harmony with people
of all creeds and nations.

| That's actually not true. What he said was that the "answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything" is 42. What was in doubt was what the original question was.
The meaning of life is something completely different. |

| Ok, so we've figured out what everyone else thinks/believes the meaning of life is. My question is what is the meaning of life to you personally? It's something to think about.
City Slickers - Curly says it's 'one thing' that you must find for yourself.

| Perhaps more interesting is: what is the meaning of YOUR life?
Mine is to leave something behind me to remember me by when I pass away. A pretty general thing, but if you come to think of it, isn't it what everyone wants when having children?

| Philosopically speaking, the meaning of life is different for each person. Some do indeed think that there is no meaning, which is the reason we have religion (only in my opinion, not meant to start a flame war...)
Biologically speaking, and I think this holds across the board, the meaning of life is life itself, the continuation of the species, ie procreation.
Sorry I don't have more time to delve any deeper into m personal beliefs. |

| Sorry to break it to you all like this, but the Hokey-Pokey really is what It's All About.

| So are you infering that the meaning of life is just to bang em and hang em? If the "hokey pokey" really is what its all about, then I'm on the wrong road. I havn't done it in 13 years!
