| In 20 years, I'll be doing wheelchair, if not coffin, fencing.
'Sides, given the competition, I don't think there'll be much of a competition. I don't think Cynthia Glover's going to do too well.

| Based upon the current confirmed entries, and only venturing a guess about the sabre ( since I know squat about who's who in foil and epee ):
Palm Springs:

WS: Sada Jacobsen. Duh.
VMS: Ed Korfanty. Duh.
VWS: Peach!
DITD:
OS: Bret Martin
WS: Sandra Kuhn
VS: Jesse Dogillo |

| I'm also predicting a late arrival for Jr to the DITD and then winning it, only to lose again to Dmitry for the bux.
As for the Saturday night gala stuff:
MxFoil: Sean will win it again.
MxSabre: Dmitry
MxEpee: Nicolas will be Cody for the moolah
WFoil: Felicia will win it hands down
WSabre: Eileen will win it in a tight race
WEpee: Garina will re-earn her spot

| DITD (sat):
MxE:
Cody Mattern over Seth Balwin for the chips, 5-3, 5-4, 1-3, 4-5, 5-4, the last winner being a 6-7 cross w/fleche that would kill all normal mortals, against Seth's left handed counter inside-outside double flick to hand. The crowd goes wild, and they rain cash and chips on the stage! |

| But Seth has a +3 armor and uses his flex bow with +2 silver elven arrows. Cody can't call out his +10 demon apparition because he's slowed by accidentally drinking a slowing potion (green bull: green bull gives you anchors), thus having to use up two scrolls of protect.
Touch of Seth.

The other predictions are spot on ;-).

| Anen is not undefeatable. Last year, Carter lost to Anen in the gold medal bout 15-14.

Plus he's had really good NAC results since, so he's still doing well.

| I can't afford to go and fence all three days. Gotta referee, so might as well referee the opens and fence the veterans.
I'm only doing the veterans at Palm Springs as well. I'll do the open at San Jose. I'll make top-16, so I'll get points for Div I Nationals. *NOT*

VWF: Michelle Verhave from West-Rock
VWS: Lydia Mazorol from High Desert | DV1ME: nailed it (not a hard guess)
DV1MF: Tiomkin came in second
DV1MS: Isayenko was third, losing to Lee
DV1WE: wasn't even close.
DV1WF: yup. Cross of Zimmermann. Close, though
DV1WS: wrong Jacobson; didn't account for possible flu and other illnesses
VME: Jere Bothelio won. Didn't see that coming
VMF: I shoulda won. Jeff Van Housen won. Didn't see that coming either (neither did he, as he came back from a 1-5 pool result).
VMS: Korfanty over Mormando. Called it.
VWE: Fortune was my fortune. No probs.
VWF: Verhave. Easy call. The only one who can really fence. Really well, that is.
VWS: Pernice won. Shoulda picked a Nellya fella.

| Vet WS: Pernice is PdF. The silver was taken by the Nellya fencer (Becky Douville)

| Thanks for the reply. How did you feel overall about the event? How was the fencing? [I'll peek into the USFA site for details]. Was that Cross off Zimmerman? which which is which? Was it an upset? Staid fencing, fancy fencing or real serious fencing?
