    "Musa: - [Korean/Chinese movie]

Just saw the Korean/China/Japan movie called Musa [Korean for WuXi = Chinese for Warriora] Wu as in WuXu. or however it is spelled.

this movie is about a year old. It's a 2 DVD = 2h15 movie. Lots of sword fighting therefore lots of blood, but little gore aside from the occasional head flying off someone's shoulder, throat slashed. Just a bit more gore than Kill Bill, Vol. 1. I mean, when a movie involves the Moguls the Chinese and the Koreans, throw in a few people wearing turbans... you expect blood? Lots of blood.

IMHO, the script was very well written. The female lead is the same girl in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragons".

Don't worry, though the characters spoke Korean and Mandarin in some soundtrack, there are English and Chinese subtitles. I saw it with the 'original' Korean and Mandarin soundtracks on, but it's also available in Cantonese, so I'm pretty sure it's in English too for the lazy ones who don't want o read subtitle. I personally prefer lsitening to the movie in the original language[s], to get the proper feel...

Watch this and you'll see how sisy our sport is.

Looks good. Might have to buy it sometime in the future since I don't think it'll get released in the US. Perhaps at a film festival somewhere.

Is it similar to the Chinese movie 'Hero"? I think it stared Jet Li. I was hoping "Hero" would have been a wide release like CTHD, but doesn't look like that's going to happen.

My question is where did you buy/rent it. My town is kinda small and I can't find it. Wanted to watch it from the preview though.

Rented it. Pretty good although the fight scenes didn't show much. Although they did a very good job of making the slave look really cool. Scene of blured spear, guys dying, slave glaring and looking cool, more blured spear, more guys getting slashed, flash of slave looking cool. Over all an entertaining movie.

    Happy New Year.
Most movies are made without the soundtrack and that is added afterwards. Most Chinese movies from HK are made with soundtracks in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, whatever you want. DVDs tells you that flexibility.

If I remember correctly, I read an article about her doing this movie and she had a translator to communicate with the crew and such. So it's probably dubed in.

It wouldn't surprised me if she did know Korean or some of it. I noticed that it's not uncommon for people from Asia/Europe (well, just about everywhere outside USA) to be multi-lingual. Whereas in the USA only a few are multi-lingual or even bi-lingual.
