Just FYI, I was making my usual review of different fencing sites and found that Fencing Sucks has apparently had its plug pulled.

As an odd aside, whereas there has only been one response to this post (Peach's)...

I've had 15 or so hits today to website I operate that jump off my link from the initial post.

I never had that many folks look my page over after posting here... Maybe I should post in the water cooler more often.

They're still down. Might be their domain name registration lapsed or their hosting payment ran out.

To be generous, since I run a site where I try to keep fairly accurate and current fencing news posted for the folks in my division, it means I have one less site to check.

It was, on occasion, the first site to pass on info from major competitions. Craig had, however, long ago outstripped them in that field.

I can even grant that site given over to flame wars serves a purpose, if only to let them happen somewhere other than here (or similar sites).

The quality of the flamewars on fencing sucks seemed to have dropped a lot the last few months.

I see its back now. With Metropolis gone and the Christopher Umbs threads having died off, it'll be interesting to see what they have left to fight over.

That site cracks me up, or it used too, recently it just sucks. . . schlager, do none of the good foilists from Salle Mauro even bother to go to any division level tournaments?? Ben Parkins wasn't anywhere. . .

Fencing Sucks used to be funny;now its all about how many times you can curse the most and still maintain an understandable sentence.

I do find it amusing that people are talking about how bad that site is and how the content is weak, but on this site right now there are(I think)3 threads about some girls hair color. Who cares. Most people have never seen this girl or give a D@$n what color her hair is.

It's all a matter of perspective. It's like people who camplain about what's on T.V.. If you don't like it change the channel or better yet turn the thing off.

True. If some one doesn't like fencingsucks.com just don't visit the site. If some one doesn't like fencing.net they shouldn't come here... Ahhh! I get it!...
