Array Darkness is not the opposite of light; it is the abscence of it (that's actually a song, too). Just the same, evil is not the opposite of good, but the abscence of it. God did not specifically create evil, but it exists because he witholds Himself from Lucifer, and those under Lucifer's control. It is because of this that there is a place such as hell, and on earth, pain and suffering. -

Array Yes darkness is the absence of light and is instantly dispelled by even a little light. Darkness then too has limitations as does coldness with absolute zero, minus 273 Kelvin I think. But light and heat can blaze hotter and brighter than a blue star on the inside.
Supernovas are astonishing. Creation and science are good.
Lucifer is said to be in chains of darkness, I suppose he would misuse light.
Adam was not allowed to gain eternal life, while in sin.
I see evil as different to the absence of good. Lucifer's lust, ambition and independance... As the other postist wrote it is good which is twisted. God loves us to want and ask for good things, Lucifer in falling had slightly differrent ideas. Lust: inordinate desire to have and enjoy. If only he had wanted interdependance.
Lucifer or Satan is the father of all liars. He is why God needed to make Hell. It is not for us, but Satan the legalist will try to father you by making you a liar. He then has the legal right to take the liars/victims to Hell. Also fornicators and murderes and cowards.
So it is very powerful to receive Christ crucified and become saved and a child of God!! No more of Satan. Then you can become Christ-like in heart and works as never before. Greater than John the Baptist.
When Jesus was in the wrestle with the spirit of death and the others after He breathed His last, He preached to those in the world of the dead and was in Hell a great light, dispelling darness by nature. Bishop Augustine wrote on this and there are N.T. verses on this. Would you like them? "He led a trail of vanquished foes"... If foes then honest but lost ones too. Also many who had died came back to life and returned to their families.
Jesus loves and treats everyone as Himself. So then why not Budha. He would be a king in Heaven now. Worshipping the Trinity, being served by angels. Restored beyond the glory of Adam...
Budha never asked for worship or god-like status. My mother said so. She went to a non Christian private school in India's Himalayas.
I think James wrote that Elijah was man just like you or me and then so was Budha and the man promised paradise who died next to Jesus.
Budhists have ideas which are not always Tafita's.
God is extremely jealous of others being worshipped in His place.
What do you think Budha himself says now? firebrand
