riposte with disengage

Hi,
I'm new at the entire sport of fencing, and I can't remember from a recent lesson what the risposte with disengage and the riposte with retreat are. I normally wouldn't bother anyone, but I am being evaluated on those (among other things) before my next lesson, and I want to pass. Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
noname

they are pretty much what they sound like - you parry, then you riposte, and your riposte has a disengage in it (in an attempt to prevent your riposte from being parried)

Likewise, riposte with retreat is taking a step back with a parry, and riposting off of it.
