    Favorite Broadway Performance?

Doesn't have to have been specifically on Broadway, but anything such as plays etc.

I would have to say mine is Riverdance, a lot of energy, and I liked the music.

I have yet to see a broadway as of yet, but I plan to see many before I die.
Plays in person that I haven't been in, but went to see I think my favorite is the Scarlet Pimpernel (the musical). Great show and performed very well by the group.

That's the play of the month for this month.

There are way too many to count (not on Broadway, but elsewhere, like Toronto)!

I loved Phantom of the Opera & Les Mis. I also really liked Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (with Sam Harris, not Donny Osmond).

The favorite one that I was IN? Hmm...Bye Bye Birdie. The only time in my high school career that they let me play anything besides an old woman!

I can tell you, "No, No, Nanette" is my least favorite musical!

My high school play last year was "Bye Bye Birdie" went really well.

As for Les Mis, I haven;t seen it, but I have played the music which is incredible.

Sweeney Todd freaked me out I'll never go to a barber shop!

As for plays that I've been in I've only been in two. West Side Story, and Children of Eden. Children of Eden was my favorite. If you haven't seen it (which is most likely the case it's not very popular here anyway) go see it. Great show, and a very good story.

Les Miserable is excellent, as well as Phantom.

The most recent production of Long Day's Journey Into Night was incredible - it's my favorite play that I've seen put on. As for musicals, I would highly reccomend Avenue Q - a recent addition to Broadway, but it's one of the few new musicals that are any good today.

    Ditto.

It's impossible for me to pick a favorite play if you include all of them. I love shakespeare (insert nerd emoticon here). I grew up on Fiddler On the Roof and just love it, though, if we're talking musicals (TRADITION, TRADITION!). Aw man, I love that stuff.

Some other random just plays I like: Hedda Gabbler by Ipson, all shakespeare plays except for most of the henrys (snore), and troilus and cressida (snore), hmm, I LOVE Noises Off by Micheal Frauyn, umm, and a lot more that I can't think of right now. Oh yeah! Arcadia by Tom Stoppard. That's another goody.

Don't get me started on Shakespeare! My favorite is A Midsummer Night's Dream. I've seen it at two different high schools (one as a 50's B-movie!) & by professionals.

I did forget Beauty & the Beast. Total eye candy, but the scenes with the wolves were stupid.

I'd have to say Cats also... First one I saw back in the early 80's in Chicago... A complete trip along with a drunk singing purple rain in my ear around the corner from the theatre... Good thing I could run...

**I could have done without the drunk dude**

Just like it said above, there are too many to name just one.

Besides many of the ones above, I liked Angels in America (Tony Award winner 93 AND 94), Sunset Blvd (Magnificient Set), Seven Keys for Balasar (wonderful ending) and Scarlet Pimpernel (costumes and songs)

Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, WITH Donny Osmond. Saw it in Chicago and it rocked!

The Lion King at The Prince of Whales Theatre here in Toronto was okay as well.

    *cheers* YEA!

Much Ado About Nothing, and The Importance of Being Ernest are great shows.
Iwant2bafencer- well said. Also, there was an excellent version of Twelfth Night...

And of course, The Pirates of Penzance... you can't beat it! Always did like the Sound of Music when I was a kid, and Fiddler on the Roof, too, I admit.

Can't tell I'm a musicals fan, or some such, can you?

I'd LOVE to see Pirates of Penzance done by someone other than a group of elementary school kids! I love that operetta! Hmm...could it be that it has something to do with pirates?
