Array Fencing Tattoo! I am thinking about adding a fencingspecific tattoo to my evergrowing collection of bodyart. I am thinking of doing some kind of emblem on my chest, maybe some kind of coat of arms? (beetween, and overlapping, the pecs). But what should I do? do you guys have any suggestions?? I doesnt have to be connected to sportfencing, It can just as well be connected to classical fencing, duelling or something simillar. Well... get brainstorming! give me some ideas! Array How about a big "Z" across your chest - Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)

Array How about a Spanish rapier? Check out some of the t-shirt designs on www.fencingwear.com -- they have a t-shirt with a spanish rapier on it. Looked quite neat.
And, if done properly, it could even look a bit like a cross until you look closely at it! (dual purpose!) -

Array One fencer on each pec, facing each other. When you flex, they attack each other. -

Array The best body art for fencing are big student dueling scars. -

Array You could accomplish the dueling fencers tattoos if you got them on your buttocks instead of your chest. Flex hard and make them smash into each other. -

Array But then you get arrested when you show it off in public -

Array I think I saw this on a t-shirt once...
you could have a picture of half a rapier going into your chest, with the handle sticking out and on your back you could show the tip coming out... or something like that. "Steady as a mountain, attack like fire, still as a wood, swift as the wind. In heaven and earth I alone am to be revered." -

Array Spend the money on more fencing stuff (or lessons) instead. Much more practical.
Unless of course, you do you own needle work... “General Feraud has made occasional attempts to kill me. That does not give him the right to claim my acquaintance.” -
Well, all I can say is if you do decide to get it done, make sure it's done by a well known person in the area. The last one I had done was by a guy who just started working for this place and screwed up a few people including myself and skipped town.
But the screwed up color, a few crooked lines and light scarring do make for an interesting conversation piece.
As for what to have done... why not an ornate version of which ever weapon you perfer on a forearm or such... possibly with some woven thorns... Just a thought... -

Array Go simple--a clean, tidy blackwork picture of your weapon of choice. http://www.dmturner.org/Pictures/tat.jpg "Arm yourself, Watson, there is an evil hand afoot ahead." -- Dennis Pierce, 2010 Bulwer-Lytton contest, detective fiction category runner-up. Similar Threads -
