So... you're saying the LP is still lighter than the Vniti and Uhlmann or not?

I believe they (Barry Paul?) said that the LP guards are lighter, as in lighter weight-wise.

My bet would still be that the allstar/Uhlmann/Vniti/whichever company manufactures them titanium/aluminium alloy guards are stronger.

According to the LP USA website the LP guards (Ref. E72LW) are made of "aluminium alloy". NB: sans the titanium.

Mind you; I only have experience with the titanium/aluminium alloy guards and they are IMHO ace.
    Fencing is my only PvP.

No, Barry Paul is saying the LP guards are lighter. I am saying that by feel they are the same weight, but clearly the LP lightweight is no where near as strong as the Vniti or the Uhlmann. IMHO this makes the Vniti & Uhlmann foil guards superior to the LP guards.
