    ditto with Artisan...

i mean... really, does she have to have big breasts, a caring disposition, keen intellect AND at least a B rating in foil?!?

    *roll eyes*

Well actually, the disposition, intellect and B rating are all nice options but not really essential...

we've definately pushed for a fencing hot-or-not.com more frequently than any other feature that craig has suggested....

[hint hint, hint hint- next feature you add, consider hot-or-not!]

I have this beautiful image of fencers in full gear with masks on being judged as hot or not. Bonus points for clean uniform, etc.

Isn't a "hot fencer" a fencer who can actually fence?

As a fencer, if someone was the best around, unless they are good looking they are not good enough?

    Hi!

The starting poster is, according to his own description:
    1. single
    2. male
    3. on the look out for a female.

I doubt that those who fit none of these three descriptions should be seen as a someone who can figure out, or shall spell out, the preferences of those who fit all. Preferences (but not necessarily the fulfillment of them) must be the prerogative of the individual. A world in which some people´s preferences in the mating game are described as invalid by someone else becomes a worse place, if the statements of those else are left unanwered.

There. Got that off my chest.

My suggestion for the OR-NOT list, will make a lot of other men look good:

    Inq, you're thinking of pickthehottie.com, not hotornot.com.

"Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, fence with, and mantain your C rating in two weapons 'til death do you part?"

    'I Do"

"Then by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you ready to fence."

It's good to share hobbies, but turning it into your own dating pool is rediculous. Still though... I think this fencing 'hot or not' thing may go somewhere... howabout every three months or so, the current 'hottest' fencer of each sex can hold a tournament... and the other competitors could fence off for a date???

I think Catlady's right. On the first day of fencing meeting, I think we had about 65-50% females of 45 people crammed into a room. now we're down to seven girls and about 12 guys.

    Kentucky world cup

I stayed at the world cup for the events that I was not fencing in. The men's events where good to watch, but surprisingly some of the women bouts, foil and saber where very good. Some fencer chicks are good looking, but I feel the skills they have are more important.

So... when are we opening up the 'fencing personal ads' part of the site? I can't stay single forever... (or can I?)

Since they are behind the mask does it really matter, so long as they have the fencing skill, or is it really fencing you're looking for?
The fencing mask: a socially acceptable paper bag!
You have two opponents, the one standing on the strip, and the one standing to the side of it.

and then there might be an issue of back pockets too... er... sorry Reawl (*cough* haven't given you grief for a while).

Someone did propose the other night that we could have a fencing hot-or-not and the monthly winners are then fenced for in tournament. Of course, lowly "I have a U '03" people like me'd never stand a chance.

ya know if you actuly wanted to get seriouse about it, we could really have a tournament, do it at summer nationals or somethen....it would work....we could use rank off the hot or not poll, instead of letter rank (so we dont weed out all the hotties) (not saying the hotties arnt just as good of fencers...) how does all that sound?
