I'm not one of those guys who go into a cinema just for the action and stuff but I just didn't like the movie plain and simple. It just wasn't very interesting when everything became far too unreal.

The last 2 movies just didn't seem to connect very well, I picked up and understood all of the stuff that mikejwash@sbcglobal.net talks about but just because it includes all the stuff doesn't make it a good movie. Honestly, why are there so many people out there who think that just because has a "second" meaning that it has to be good?

But what really gets me is that most people out there thinks that having a second meaning in a movie is really cool and mysterious... like they've never seen a movie like that before.

Take my advice and watch Gattaca it's a far better movie.

The fight in the dock was good, but I liked Neo's fight at the end better.
It wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I still think the first one was the best one.

Ok, so I thought they were only coming out with three movies. Was I miss informed? Or are they throwing out a 4 as a surprise? Cuz the end of that was left waaaay too open.

Actually Reverse, I'm not black. I look a lot like an arian poster child. Blonde hair, blue eyes, 5'11''. I'm about as black as you are orange. I just thought the post was interesting. You have no idea what my politics or beliefs are, quite amusing though how you jump to the conclusion I'm black. I actaually questioned you on it because I wanted to see where it would go.

Inq, of course. What fun is it if there is no controversy. Plus I've seen you stir the pot before.

Well I'm just saying that there is way too much PC and reverse racism going on these days. In the first Matrix Morhpeus said that they will only awaken those from the Matrix who are ready. Obviously that means it takes a lot of IQ to be ready. I don't believe that blacks are as ready as the Orientals and the Whites. Sad to say this since I'm black myself.

    *Obviously.*

It has been suggested that the machines would have been more predominant in the industrialized West, those humans would have been conquered first.

The third-world may have been more resilient because of a lack of reliance on technology.

Or maybe it's 'cause they needed people who could dance for that big techno/orgy scene, and we all know that white boys can't do that...

Hey once a month I go to Walmart when they have rythmn on sale. I can dance. No stop laughing really......

I know what you mean. I feel like our society has this unrepresable need to take things to far. We try to remedy someones problem so much for them that we create a new(maybe worse) problem. If you take a look at most of the PC crap it is taken so far. We worry so much about hurting someones feeling we stop looking at how stupid some of the things they are sensative about are.

I think there's an even deeper philosophical debate going on in the Matrix, but every time i attempt to post it, it disappears, so I'm not going to bother typing it out again, but it strikes me as though there is a conflict between competing philosophies (smith as a nihilist vs. christianity vs. others), and the entire thing is loaded with christian symbolism as well - basically showing the triumph of faith.

In terms of zion looking like harlem, remember that zion is largely the result of interbreeding, not just those who have been rescued. With a contained population, a portion of which is black, the genes for skin color will be spread causing a racial mixing - note that it wasn't all really dark skinned, but lighter skinned blacks - the result of intermixing with whites and, doubtless, east asians and indians as well.

Actually, no. Since Zion had been destroyed 6 times beore, those people weren't the original survivors. They were selected by the last version of The One and put there.

So, clearly The One liked black people more, and the message is clear: The One(jesus) is REALLY BLACK!! ha ha.

I read it as not referring to "you" specifically, but "you" being your average person from Zion. But whatever. And I definitely agree with you on the reverse discrimination - just try to get into a college someplace as a middle-class white male with both parents living, together, and healthy.

Yeah, hey, why was there no Asian in Zion? The only Asians were computer programs. What does that mean? Do they think Asians are all like computer programs? Keanu Reeves is only half Asian, so he doesn't count. Oh, wait, maybe it's implying Jesus is really half Asian and half Caucasian! Or is it Jesus had a little Zen in him? Do you think God and Buddha knew each other?

For Christ's sake, it's just a movie. If it made you think about racial discriminations, you have issues.
