Fencing Journal

How many of you keep a fencing journal. If so, what do you record?

I keep a journal. I write drills that I find particularly helpful or that I am particularly bad at in it. I also put in my tournament results, including what I did well and what I need to work on. I find it keeps me focused on specific things and helps me focus more when I am practicing.

When you have well defined and specific goals, keeping such a journal lets you know if you have met your goals and to show growth. Adjustments to goals can be made if need be. I think it is a good idea.

my coach has me write in a journal too. it's great. i have been meaning to do it for a few years, but now that i am doing it, it's easy to see what i need to work on, especially during and after tournaments. and it is a good reference, because you can look up a fencer and see what worked against them. of course, they may have improved, but their faults are good to keep in mind anyway.
