I recently bought three lunette foils off eBay. I gave one away. One
of the ones I still have has a blade marked "G. Lion a' Paris." It is
very flexible, and had a cream-colored cord wrapping originially. The
hardware is all steel, and the tang is hammered down. I replaced the
wrapping with leather. What can I do to replace the blade when it
brakes, and how to I put leather under the guard?
The other foil is shorter and has a black-and-white cord wrapping and
brass hardware. The blade is very stiff, and the foil is very pretty,
so I use it as a wall-hanger. What can I do to preserve the cord
wrapping?
Thanks,
Zachary Unger
