| Leon Paul shipping I'm curious- for the US fencers who've ordered from LP, how long before your order typically got to you? I've ordered about a month and a half ago, and am starting to wonder if the mail fairy has eaten my knickers. |

| I've ordered blades from them a couple times, and they were here in the States within a week or two. |

| I know the question is about shipping to the US, but just to let this be an indication:
Order palced 10/17.
Dispatched from London via International air freight on Mon. 10/21. [Business must have been good...]
Received in Vancouver BC, Canada on Mon. 10/27. Could have been Fri 10/24.
So let's say 1 wks.
That said, I could have gone with a courier and pay the 14.5% taxes [in Canada]. But as discussed previously in another thread, if you ask them to ship via courier, it'll get to you faster, but the courier company will charge you the taxes.
OTOH, if you ask them to send the merchandise via mail, then it's up to Customs to levy the taxes and duty...
It's your money.

| I have ordered from Leon Paul several times, mostly smaller parts that can fit into a padded envelope. The delivery time for the merchandise to arrive here in NJ was about a week to 10 days.

| A perfect solution!! MyraTrue, I have the answer to all your woes!
Move over here to Merrie Olde England (London of course) and then you can just go to Leon Paul on the tube! Nearest stop, Camden Town. Where Bob Cratchit lived, for any Dickens fans.
Only joking.
I am very tired. I will go home now.

| I had a similar problem with them when I ordered my x-change sabre mask. It took over 2 months I believe, possibly much longer than that, to receive it. To their credit they were very prompt at replying to any emails I sent them, but I wish I would have been told either beforehand, or at least before my older was 2 months late that the technician who makes the masks was on vacation.

| Hey Myra, Barry Paul occasionally posts here. I am surprised he hasn't replied to this himself.
You should try posing this same question at www.fencingforum.com ....that will get his attention. |

| I e-mailed them last night adn they replied very quickly- it turns out they shipped it on Tuesday. The knickers (breeches, I know... ) were out of stock, and they had to send off the the tailor for them. Wish they'd TOLD me, but I didn't need them RIGHT NOW.
Louweasle- don't tempt me! I always loved Blades, had a GREAT time poking around and talking with them when I got to stop by. I'm not a fan of all things LP, but some things, most certainly. And how could I agrue with the ability to TRY THINGS ON??? I wish I COULD go back to London, and Wales, maybe wander around for a month or two.
Thanks all round for the input. I ought to have asked LP sooner, but I remember how long it took for the things I mailed a month and a half before I even LEFT England to get back to my place in the US. They were mailed in late November and got there in... Early Feb? I didn't think LP's do buisness like this, though.
Counting the days now... |

| "Barry is not around at the moment" hence his not responding immediately here, there or anywhere... No reason given. MYOB.
LP has mentioned on their web site about the difficulty of shipping big objects like masks and blades, so you can't say you haven't been warned. So, if that's what you need, ask a friend visiting London to get it for you.

| But PKT *affecting the typical whine of a 4 year old* I only ordered a pair of knickers. They're not big.
But still, LP's knickers are worth waiting 2 months for. I wonder if I could ship myself over there? Slap on a "live cargo" sticker, pack myself in a crate, and get there in about 10 days...
hm....

| I guess if they're out of stock, the wait is a bit longer but not TWO months.
You know, in HK, you can have a tailor-made suit in 2 DAYS with fittings...but alas, London is NOT HK, thank goodness for that.
There IS a seat sale on from Vancouver to London about CAD600 before all the other add-on charges...
I think they won't take you in a crate: too much DEAD weight.
