On a quest for a more useable opposition parry of 4th, I did a lot of
experimenting. I always did the parry as taught, and reinforced by replies
from this group (thank you). I tried various hand positions and blade
angles. I find that doing the parry as taught works the best for the defense
part, but then adding a properly timed side step with the riposte cleared
the target and diminished the opponents parry success rate very nicely.
