Array What do you guys think? I just bought the Mask vision 2000 F.I.E.transparent by Leon Paul. This thing looks really stupid but guess what? Its so much better than the normal mesh mask. My judgement of distance is much better and my parries are much faster. I can't believe how much the old mask impaired my vision.
What do you guys think? -

Array Haven't tried one, so I can't really comment. How do you like the fit of it?
BTW, you can post a full review at: http://www.fencing101.com/reviews/ce...ils&itemid=282
Thanks,

Array ?
Does it seem top heavy? I guess I mean front heavy? Let us know how it works. Scratches? How hot is it etc.

Cheers No its not heavy at all and if feels very solid. I haven't been using it long enough to get scratches but I'm sure no matter how much it gets scratched up it won't be as vision inpairing as the metal mesh mask. But I have to say that I look lke a fricken dork wearing it. -

Array To the scratching issue, Im pretty sure leon paul sells replaceable thin outer-layers of plastic that you can discard and replace whenever they become too scratched. Array Yes, I heard about those. It seems like a good idea to me. As far as vision goes. My big thing with it is the opponent being able to see you. With a mesh mask, they can't see your face well. This, in my opinion, is a great asset, as when two really good fencers fight, it becomes somewhat of a poker game. Who can bluff the other guy into making a wrong move. But, I don't know whether the pro's outweigh the con's. I'd like to hear more about it, so please post again on your feelings about it. As I said, it looks dorky. As for seeing your eye. Well in a real fight there are no masks. You should always be looking into his eyes. Thats one thing i learned from kendo. Eyes always eyes.
