Array Div III in Reno Just outta curiosity, did anyone watch the finals of the men's Div III? Myu teammate, Grady Hutt won it all...15-2! His opponent came from Rhode Island -- an awful long way to go to get that kind of a hammering!
Grady showed me a video of the bout. After he'd landed 5 or 6 touches, it was clear his opponent basically gave up. Grady didn't back off at all (perhaps remembering my prime inspirational bout, Golubitsky/Kim, '91 WC), and took it all, getting his "C" and the hardware!
Not bad for a guy who only stared competing 18 months ago. -

Array I always feel bad for the people who are in the gold medal bout in the events right as the tournament closes. They don't get a huge crowd. Was it near the end and that's why noone's replying? That would be terrible to get crushed like that in the gold medal bout. -Sabresque

Doh! You'd think I'd get that one right...I use it often enough! Thanks, Eric.
Did you ever get ahold of Al Carter, BTW! -

Array Personally, I'm always thrilled if I get far enough to get crushed in the gold medal bout! Nothing like the perspective one gets from having finished last now and then. . . -

Array True! I shouldn't have said that ... it would be cool just to get there. -Sabresque
