Any experiences? I note a new vendor that apparently carries them.

I picked up a pair of the Estoc high top shoes when I was at the JOs with my son.

My high top Adidas were wearing out (yes, I know I can get them re-soled), and I was never 100% happy with the fit.

The verdict so far: they are extremely comfortable and the support is good. Traction is as good as the Adidas on the surfaces I've used them on. Since I fence with an additional insole, the cushioning seems the same as the Adidas. They are a bit heavier.

Concerns: will they last as long as the Adidas? The Adidas uppers are still in very good shape after almost two years. This is the biggest concern when not buying Adidas as I've seen several other brands of fencing shoe "explode" after a relatively short period of time.

Secondary concern: they are pretty funny looking.

I picked up a pair of non-hightop Estoc shoes 2 years ago. They wore apart within a few months and weren't worth it, my wrestling shoes have been holding up a lot better.
