I know foil WC 1999 Korea is pretty good.
As for 30 bucks, I guess if you want to improve your game you will just have to suck it down. -

Array I've noticed that the quality of their tapes varies a lot; from frankly sucks to quite good. For example, I bought the 98 World Cup Epee in Cuba, and the fencing is really not that good (did not learn anything) the blade work is really hard to see, etc.
However, I also bought the 98 World Champs Epee and the tape was really good.
I guess you can't have perfect video when going with home cameras at tournaments where the light is bad, and when referees jump in front of you, as well as other spectators, but the price in the second case should be lowered I think. A blank tape doesn't cost that much and they charge you for the shipping separately anyway. - Epee is the Louis Vuitton bag of fencing: only the best can get it, and the rest of the masses must content themselves with cheap knockoffs (sabre, foil)
- To not recognize the power of the French grip is to be in denial

What Foil tapes are good? I'm interested in getting a tape or two. PM -
I've just received some 98 & 99 World Championship Sabre tapes and I must commend Michael Aufrichtig on the quality of his tapes and service. He's a true gentleman and I highly recommend his products. I've also got the 97 Men's Foil & Sabre Finals which are on the same tape. A very good product. -

Array I have the 1989 World Championships Men's Team Foil, and the video quality is really quite good. It seems to be a copy of a professionally done video, so there are several camera angles and blade movement etc. is pretty clear. As for whether it is "good" fencing, well, I wish I was good enough to be able to seriously critique it. I printed out the commentary that's on their web-site and read along as I watched the bouts, which I found quite helpful.
