Hello everybody,

I just joined this forum and I would like to introduce myself. I was born and educated in Poland but for the last 22 years I've been living in Canada. My academic background is in literature and art history. In the old country I worked as a museum curator. I was also an active member of the Society of Connoisseurs of Old Arms and Uniforms, a scholarly association based in Krakow.

Although my interest in historical weapons goes a long way back, I started fencing just now, at the venerable old age of 49. I consider myself an absolute beginner, and my questions will probably reflect this, so please bear with me.

And here is my first question: Which book(s) would you recommend for a lucid and extensive treatment of (a) fencing strategies, (b) fencing exercises?

Thank you kindly,

Mariusz Wesolowski
