| Just watched the segment on Peter Westbrook and the PWF.
Very good segment with some nice clips of the PWF fencers in training and in competition.
Peter is such a charismatic person that you just start smiling when you're watching him talk about the sport and his kids.

| Loved the story. Especially that the reporter was giggling and enjoying herself while she was playbouting with him. Loved the fact that they filmed a PACKED room. I'm also happy about the summer nationals and cuba mentions. I also love the fact that they gave a reason to care about these guys for next years main event.
You're right Craig, you really can't help but smile when he's talking during the interview. |

| I thought it was a GREAT segment. they did a good job on it.
Actually, what's kind of funny is that right before that on ABC Family, maybe, there was a show called "Switched" where two people who don't know each other switch lives for a while. This girl had switched with a sabre fencer from New Mexico named Tray!! The girl took sabre lessons and stuff, it was good.

| Was this the segment where they videotaped at Austin, and had a bunch of people stand around to clap for whoozit who won the Div III MS so the camera can get a nice photo-op?
They followed the guy all the way through the Div III tournament, and was lucky that he won.

| I believe it was the same crew.
That was carlton henry they were following around.
He also did respectably in div 2...Third, or second?
Definetly top 8.

I was able to Tivo most of the story. If someone can host it online, I can upload a QuickTime movie or MPEG. Maybe after the weekend. |

There are several free web hosts that provide more space than that.... |

| i can host it via FTP ive got 10megabit up and down/load speeds so that should be fine for everbody.
how long is it? 150 megs? if its low quality, but if its HDTV or something above 800x600 then it'll be closer to 300megs.

| Thanks!
There have been 3 generous offers to host. Provided I can capture the movie, we can put it up on three locations and distribute the burden. I don't know how large it will be, but it's analog tv signal and I'll also probably scale it down... so, not too big. I'll know when I finally get it, tonite or tomorrow. |

| i dunno if you have the space, or bandwidth to transfer it all, But, what we could do is have 3 quality versions of it. low quality for dial up people. med(or high) quality for everybody on broadband.
I know myself, i would download the highest quality version i could get. but i can download super fast, and have the space for it. so ya know
just let me know when you wanna upload it.

| Though I'm a "medium" connection myself, I'm only doing versions for a low- and a high- speed connection.
The small version is a .WMV, 2.8 megs for 9 1/2 minutes of video. Quite amazing compression. It sounds muddy, and looks worse... but you can get the info you need.
The big version I'm trying to keep to under 7 megs... probably a QuickTime MOV. I'm compressing it right now, and we'll see how it turns out.
When I upload it, I'll let the other volunteer-hosters know where it's at, so they can grab a copy before I post the links online. Let me know.
Notice: This clip is missing the beginning of the news story. I didn't TiVo it on time. |
