and i can die in childbirth at 13 after being raped repeatedly by a 40 year old. | Oh please! What's the property tax rate in California right now? As well as taxes on just about everything but the air you breathe! If you are successful in California, you're already giving huge amounts of your income to the government. Why do you think businesses and upper income people are leaving the state in record numbers?
As far as tithing - you are already tithing money to the church of the hispanic vote block. What do you think all the services for illegal immigrants are all about, anyway? Politicians just want to be sweet? Cynical news flash - career politicians care about one thing and one thing only - getting re-elected, no matter what the dangers and/or costs to the rest of the nation.
As to the womanizing stuff -- yeah, he admits at least some of it is true. You can't get everything you want in a political candidate all at once. The voters voted for Arnold anyway because the issues they were mad about were all about economics and immigration, and Arnold is very conservative on those issues. He is pretty liberal socially.
There are very few people in politics without skeletons in their closets. After all, most decent people despise politics and career politicians. Arnold certainly seems to. Arnold doesn't appear to be a woman hater, he just appears to have this huge ego, and thinks that he is irresistible to women. Groping women is reprehensible, but he has no allegations of violence or rape leveled against him, like one of our recent presidents (who is still beloved by just about all female Dems, including feminist groups - go figure), so I doubt you'll have anything to worry about on that last score. |

Don't take it as being politically incorrect (ok maybe it is a bit), but more hispanics are rising above the poverty line and becomming successful middle and upperclass members. Hence, the typical democratic-urban hispanic is becomming the typical republican-suburban hispanic. |

That's the way it is here in Alabama as well. The hispanics here are incredibly hard working types, and their kids are very respectful of adults in general. Not at all like the stereotypes you see on TV and hear about in the news. But the politicos still insist on treating them like morons. "Vote for me because I give away the most money to illegals". As if hispanics have some sort of herd mentality. Very insulting from my point of view. |

| Whoops. Just re-read the portion of my rant that was quoted by canthidefromme. I may have given the impression that I thought hispanics bought into what the politicos are selling. Sorry about that. I merely meant that the politicos promise that stuff hoping to court the hispanic vote, not that the hispanics all believe it or want it. |

| This is just so like America to have a celebrity in politics. But then again, I suppose it's better than the two ex-spouses and the fifty year old playboy wannabe.

| So what did Ahnold promise you that made you vote for him?
Did you vote for him simply because you didn't like Davis and his was the only name you could remember?
Would you have voted for him if he actually ran for governor instead of replacement governor, i.e. during the last election where Davis was elected by a majority vote?
Did you vote for him because he was a republican?
Did you vote for him simply because you want to see "Arnold Schwarzeneger" in office, irregardless of what he stood for?
Did it seem to anyone else that the news simply didn't take the election seriously? That they were all laughing and telling their anecdotal "arnold is running for governor" stories rather than frankly covering the serious candidates? Did anyone else feel like Arnold was running against "Ben and J.Lo?"
Can the man actually do the job?
This is my exit poll |

{snip} | Just a correction which I found surprising when I first read it.
Schwarzenegger got both a higher percentage (48.7%) as well as absolute number (3,744,902) of votes in this election than Davis did in the election of 2002 (47.3% and 3,533,490, respectively). 2002 Governor's Election Results 2003 Recall Results
Make of that what you will

They love being in prison too because its a non stop siesta for them. Like a paid vac ation with room and meals.
I'm so happy The Terminator is finally taking care of business. He is gonna terminate all the wetbacks and demorats! I also hope he makes all those women's rights people shut up too. If men and women are equal then there wouldn't be a women's rights movement. Women need to learn how to earn their rights. |

| Now, let me start by saying I have been pretty detached from the news here (can't watch TV, hard to get a newspaper, etc.), so I really don't know what Ah-nold stands for. However, if he is going for the things which Reverselunge speaks of, I have to agree.
I might put it a little more tactfully if I were you, Reverselunge. Or at least I'd try - heaven knows I usually end up pissing people off royally anyway; I'm not the softest with words. But in any case, might want to soften it a bit.
I have to agree, though, with getting rid of illegals rather than giving them privileges - there's a reason they're called illegals. I also agree with the comment on the women's rights groups. It's like affirmative action; when you take it too far, it's discrimination again, just the other way around. And having just recently had to do the whole college application thing, I can tell you that it sucks that being a minority female is such a huge advantage. |

It's trolling.
Best practice is to ignore it. They eventually get bored and go away when nobody plays with them.

You demorats are such sore losers. | i bet you're the kind of person that blames rape victims..... "they had it coming..."
now, i don't really have anything against arnold, i wouldn't vote for him, but i wouldn't be crazy about voting for anyone else offered either. also, i live on the opposite coast, and am not yet 18.
all that aside?
i don't find the man attractive. at all. i don't want him. and, i'm sure there's one or two other women who don't really like him.
but, whatever. |

but, whatever. | Well sure you don't want him. He is too old for you now. I don't think you get it. Lets see...you said you are under 18 right? Well imagine if you had a chance to get touched by Justin Timberlake. Of course you're gonna take it!
And this has nothing to do with rape! Those women probably begged Arnold for all the physical attention he could give them. But hey, this was year and year ago and only now do they come out with it. |

And if it's a joke it sure isn't funny. | Listen Sgt. Preston! There are plenty of you guys here illegally too.
California is going to crap because of the illegals coming in from Mexico. They come in and commit crime such as hit and run and robbery. And everytime one of them gets nailed by a car while are sneaking over here guess what? Thats right. We the people of California have to pay for his healthcare! Outrageous!!!!!
OK. There are two types of people in Mexico: there are the Mexicans and the Mexican'ts. Now I don't have a problem with the Mexicans but it's the Mexican'ts that I can't stand. And it's the Mexican'ts that come over here and ruin things for all of us. |
