    Red Sox or Yankees?

Kudos to the best baseball team ever:
    the Boston Red Sox

Do u think that this is the year that the "Curse of the Bambino" ends?

do they have enough to beat the yankees? i m preparing my "Jeter Swallows" t.shirts.

Red Sox are going to beat the Yankees!

    That was a crazy game!

There is no curse however (It was made up by Dan Shaughnessy to get his kids through college).

It's not the curse of the bambino. It's the curse of the piano, and it was ended when a bunch of fans pulled the piano out of the lake that it was thrown into in 1918.

Too bad they never actually found that piano huh? There was a piece on HBO about "The Curse", and they make reference to it, but that no one could find it. Oh btw Sox in 6, then they beat the Cubs in 5.

"So the winning run is at second base with two out. Three-and-two to Mookie Wilson. . . . A little roller up along first . . . behind the bag . . . it gets through Buckner! Here comes Knight! And the Mets win it!"

"Deep to left! Yastrzemski will not get it! It's a home run! A three-run homer by Bucky Dent! And the Yankees now lead by a score of 3-2!"

It doesn't? We're talking about a great tradition of "almost, but not quite".

If they don't choke against the Yanks, they'll choke in the WS.

I doubt it. When they get passed the Yanks, they will have beaten the second best team in baseball. They'll come up hopefully against the Cubs, and beat them in 5.

    DJ,

Congrats on your one win. However, it takes four. This is the problem with the Sox: just when they have it in the bag...

If it wasn't so funny, it'd be tragic.

And really, anyone rooting for the Sox should NOT use the word "choke" for the next week. If the team even hears it, they're likely to do it.

See what I mean? They just have to choke. It's obligatory. It must be the uniform.

Pedro, as much as I hate him, pitched brilliantly, then stayed in for two batters too many.

They hang on with great fielding and good relief and then....

Then, Aaron Boone, who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, comes up against Wakefield, who STILL had his great stuff and suddenly, BAM: home run, season over for the Sox.

They are indeed cursed. The worst part is, they just can't lose, they have to get all of New England's hopes up and then crash.

I just hope the Yankees didn't spend it all on the Sox.

They may have tehy pitched Wells, Mussina, and Clemens in the same game, along with Rivera for three innings. The thing is, if they had gotten out of the inning the Sox would have won because RIvera would have been out and they would have to face Weaver. But alas, the tears of despair are still streaming from my face and all I can say is to wait until next year.

I must admit i am not a big fan of baseball but from what i have seen on the news lately i understand that the Red Soxs are an underdog so in keeping with tradition go the underdogs go the Red Soxs!
