    Actually, they were going to pitch Contreras in that inning. If they used Weaver, yes, I'd be crying and the Sox would be playing tonight.

    Remember, the only reason that the yanks pulled this out is that Joe Torre is Einstein and Grady Little is Forrest Gump.

    How is Torre a genius? All he did was pitch his starers over his bullpen and then pitch the greatest closer in the majors for 3 innings. But yes, Little is Forest Gump.

    Torre is a genius by running his team like a well coached Little League team:

    Stick to fundamentals and forget the egos.

    That approach combined with the individual talent that George's $$$ can buy, and you have a team that has been a champ or contender for the past 7 years.

    Add to that, Joe's years of experience and baseball saavy, and you have genius.

    K.I.S.S.: Fundamentals executed well are hard to beat (goes for fencing too).
