change to a pistol grip

i have a practice (non-electric) french foil. And i want to convert it to a pistol grip is there an easy/cheap way to do this or should i just buy a new one from BG ($25).

If the tang is threaded all the way down, then it is very easy to remove the french grip, cut the tang to the length of the pistol grip, do a bit of filing, and put on the pistol grip. If the tang isn't threaded, then you have to cut it and then thread it, which is not that pleasant. In the latter case, I would just buy a new weapon, especially if you don't have the proper die lying around to thread the tang.

Thanks thomas i checked and i was lucky it was threaded all the way up so i saved some money -i'll just buy a handle. Thanks again!
