Questions to ask sports medicine doctor? OK, so I decided to bite the bullet and get my ankles checked out -
turns out there's a sports medicine specialty clinic near me that my
insurance covers. Cool. So I have an appointment with one of the doctors
there. Now, I'm assuming that she probably doesn't know much about
fencing in particular, but I'm just happy to be seeing someone who
presumably knows how to work with athletes.
Does anyone have any suggestions for questions that it might be
particularly useful to ask, or things that I should remember to point
out?

Re: Questions to ask sports medicine doctor? You would be suprised what a PT knows -- when I went to my PT for a
non-fencing related injury, when they said that I had a non-normal foot
angulation, they asked to as why -- I said maybe from fencing -- they said
that they have had several fencers, and they never saw this extreme -- not
even with ballerinas.
Just mention the fencing, and let them take it from there.

Re: Questions to ask sports medicine doctor? What I do -- whether they want me to or not -- is show them the
on-guard stance and the lunge, so that they can understand the kind of
forces we're putting on our joints.
