How to do away with flicks in foil

Since this is all speculative, no names.

It came to pass that one way the FIE is aiming to do away with flicks is to make the hits stay for a little longer period on the lame' before the hit will register with the machine.

this will work for the traditional point thrusts:
~ Point lands on lame', push, blade bends, light comes on.
i.e. the point punctures the skin.

OTOH, with flicks... well, I won't bore you with the details.

So, are we ready to buy the new machines for foil????

Conceivably we'll all have 3 or 4 different generations of machines in a club.

although there would be considerable expensive worldwide to clubs, plus a considerable opposition from a major proportion of foilists
