| Konin, Poland Cadet Results First returns from the Cadet Designated "B" (but perhaps not an actual World Cup competition) in Konin, Poland:
Two Americans in the Gold Medal bouts:
Becca Ward, OFA, wins the Gold Medal in Women's Sabre, Max Williams is fencing for gold in Men's Sabre.
In WS, Daria Schneider (New England, PdF(?)) also makes top eight. Reportedly field of 120 for each sabre event.

| Wow.
Daria is a first class bad-***.
She's one of those fencers that you see and think can only continue going up. She went from a relative begginer a few years ago and thru dilligent training, she's been dominating. Most of the men in the division are even scared of her(including myself ) and nationally.
Any idea how many national points are earned for this competition? Daria is just on the cusp of making the cadet national team, and I think she deserves it. Perhaps this'll put her there..

| Dilligent training? Is that training with a nice guy and a pickle?
I think I heard one of the coaches say the winnner got 600 points that come thru as group II points (extra credit above those earned at NAC meets)
A regular Cadet meet gold medal earns you 400 points. The advantage of like going to like a designated internaitional meet is that the points add extra to your total, and can't be replaced by a higher point event, like junior or like Div1.

| At this point, probably not until the USFA does it, or someone gets back with the printed inforamtion.
I'm just getting partial information from someone at the club with a borrowed cell phone and less than perfect connections.

Not to nit pick, but Max had to withdraw due to leg cramps. (Calves)
After gallantly finishing the semifinal bout in what appeared to be excruciating pain,
he withdrew with the score 4-2 in the final bout.
And He would have won......
