[CFML] 19th century style saber blades -- curved blades This might be of interest to those doind 19th century saber.
Did some sabers up this past spring for John Sullens and also John
Lennox (Art of Combat). Wanted to work on Hutton's "Cold Steel" with
my practice group so had done up several (10 as I recall) last fall.
Those that I made for Sullens and Lennox benifited from what I
learned doing those for my own use. Am now on 4th generation (they
recieved 2nd and 3rd). Changes from the first have been in curve
(less), handles (better shape), preventing loosening of tang nut
(make darn sure tang hole in guard is well fitted, increasing the
strength of the "knucklebow" area of the guard (for some folk)and
putting a pommel on (nut just a nut) with a hold drilled in it to
tighten with.
Pricing on stuff is in the $160 to $240 range depending on exact
design for an entire saber and $120 for the blade only.
If this is of interest to you let me know.
