| Old lame questions I have recently come into posession of my father's old lame. He swears he used it in college, in 1966 (!) which makes it at least a year older than I am. It was relatively well stored (hasn't been used in years). It has a yellow plastic lining, and the tag says Jasco, Somerset. The thread is silver-colored, making me think it is steel, but the sweat stains are green, making me think copper.
Here is the interesting part. I pulled out my multimeter, and the thing reads zero or near zero anywhere I touch it, even with the contacts at opposite ends of the thing. I will admit that my multimeter is not the most sensitive thing (a cheap analog radio shack job), but still, the needle doesn't even wiggle.
Can I still use the thing? Someone at my club mentioned that the regulation cut has changed.
Also, FYI I cleaned it in a basin of water with a few drops of detergent and oxyclean and soft paintbrush, followed by a dilute white vinegar rinse to neutralize the oxyclean, and then gallons of cold water rinse, and the thing sparkles! (and it no longer smells of 30-year-old feet)
