Sabre Manchette

Does anyone know what the USFA's official position on manchettes is? Their web-site states, "The armed hand, from the wrist bone to the tips of the fingers is no longer target; no manchette required." However, at tournaments I have been told a variety of things: 1) if your lame sleeve is long enough to reach your wrist in a lunge position you can just tuck your glove cuff in your lame sleeve, 2) you have to wear your cuff on top of your lame sleeve and wear a manchette that only covers the target area, which can be accomplished by folding the manchette under, or 3) you have to wear a manchette that covers the back of your hand up to the knuckles but that is non-conductive on the non-target area. Each director that has given me their take on this claims that "it's in the rules".

Anybody?

Basically, the hand is no longer target area. Since the cuff of a gauntlet is below the wrist bone, that is a valid target area. They make sabre gloves now where the cuff is covered in lame material. Buy one or do what the director advises you to do.

"...ahhh, we have sort of a problem here... yeah, you apparently didn't put one of the new cover sheets on your TPS report"
